A Weight Update

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

I haven’t been posting many weight updates.  So, here’s one in case you’re wondering where I’m at.

This week I lost TWO pounds!  I couldn’t believe it!

My current weight is 235.2.  So, my total loss from when I began weight watchers is -2.6.  But, my loss from when I first started back at Weight Watchers is 4 pounds.  I am pretty proud of myself but I know I can do better.

Also, like I said yesterday my birthday is coming up.  My 26th year will be a year full of changes for me whether it is moving, to my mom moving, to graduating, and finding my first “real” job.

I’m not going to lie I am excited about all of these changes.  But, the one I am most excited for is the change that is happening within me, my weight loss.  I know I can do it, I have lost weight before.  I just need support, motivation and a little help from my friends.

Couch to 5K

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

My friend Jami and I signed up for a 5k.  It will be my first 5k ever, and obviously I am not a runner.  So, I decided I was going to attempt the Couch to 5K program.  My first day was yesterday and it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.

I used my iPod arm thing and the headphones that my brother got me for Christmas.  I made the mistake of placing the iPod on my left arm so when I ran I always jerked one of the headphones out of my ear.  It was driving me nuts, finally I switched my iPod to my right arm and had more success but I felt like I spent the majority of my time adjusting my ear buds.

Then, the place I was running is an old military housing street.  There is usually just a few people walking through and I like the view of the water and the breeze there so that is my favorite running place.  Last night there was a ‘Veterans Assistance’ vehicle there.  I was super confused because save for the occasionally bored cop that drives through there aren’t any cars.  But began my w1d1 walk/run.

When I went by the car I saw that there was a man in the car, just sitting there, staring.  I went around the street three times, the last time the man got out of his car and began smoking.  I went around one more time and he was still outside smoking.  I got a little creeped because nobody was walking around the street and it was just him and I.  I decided I’d run around the park, so I made my way out of the street and into the park.  By the time I got by the baseball court this car was driving through.  Now, this may not strike anyone as odd but it did to me for a lot of reasons:

  1. I have never seen a ‘Veterans Assistance’ vehicle, and I worked across from the VA for years.
  2. Why was he sitting in an abandoned housing unit?
  3. Doesn’t he have better things to do with his time then just waste gas?  I mean that is expensive!
  4. I have watched WAY too many Law and Orders, NCIS, 24, and insert name of random television show that shows someone getting kidnapped, murdered, tortured, etc.

Anyway, my run went fine, I just need to remember to not get creeped out and to put my iPod arm band on the right arm instead of the left.  I don’t know why it is more out of the way on that arm it just is.

#7DayChip

I also re-started the #7DayChip yesterday and I really can’t say enough good things about it.  I have decided to make my goals simple and to focus on me.

  1. Write down everything.  Tracking online doesn’t work for me, I have realized this and I am adapting.
  2. Make it a point to get on my Wii Fit at least for the body test.  I want to track my progress and find out what works and what does not.
  3. Participate in the Couch to 5K program.
  4. On off days for the Couch to 5K find another way to workout.
  5. Go to the gym at least once.
  6. Drink WATER!

These are simple goals and while they may not seem like a lot to you, it is a big deal for me and also an important on my journey as I set out to lose 100 pounds.

Some non-diet goals of mine are:

  1. Get on a regular blogging schedule
  2. Take a “before” photo and then every month take a progress photo.
  3. To get packed and move :)

So here is a question:

What are some songs that are on your playlist?  I need help!!

Monday Recap

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Monday’s are my long day at school and while I was in class I thought it’d be fun if every now and again I wrote ten things I was thankful for.  So, today here is what I am thankful for

  1. My cousin, Kristy, for her ability to always be there for me and to listen to me…even when I am a blubbering mess.
  2. My friend, Samantha, for having dinner with me and putting up with my madness in class.
  3. The people I work with.  I woke up at 5 so I had time to do my hair and makeup.  They complimented me and said I look nice.  I feel pretttyyyyyyyy.
  4. Google Reader for allowing me to read all the blogs I want to and learn about delicious new recipes.
  5. Blackberry Messenger, because it is fun.
  6. Dogs, and trying to decide what kind I want after I move.
  7. Photos of my nieces.
  8. Weight Watchers for giving me the tools I need to lose weight.
  9. My dad for always forgetting that I’m allergic to cats…
  10. My bed for letting me be oh so comfy at night.

I am hoping to also get a photo of myself as sort of a before photo.  I am a terrible slacker at these things…I am also going to post a recipe up soon! :)

Back on the diet I goooo

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

After a month (or so) of slacking and not attending meetings I’m going back on the diet.  According to the Wii Fit I weighed…236.3.  Not the best, but not the worst it could have been either.  i have my meal plan complete for the week and I’m hoping to be able to find some new foods that will keep me fuller and keep me from snacking so often.

Also, I am going to start putting more recipes up.  I will only post them if they’re delicious and I’m a big fan.

I do want to post my weekly goals so here goes:

  1. Workout for 30 minutes 4 times this week.
  2. Track EVERYTHING!
  3. Post at least three times a week.
  4. Attend weight watchers meeting.
  5. Stay focused on school and homework.
  6. Meal plan for next week.

This is just a quick note checking in…I have a ton of homework to get to so I must go.  B

Wooooo!!

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Starting Weight: 233.6 lbs

Current Weight: 229.4 lbs

Loss/Gain: -4.2 lbs lbs

Wow, after a crazy week I am relieved that I lost over 4 lbs.  I think that sometimes I get discouraged when I don’t follow through with the goals I set for myself and I don’t think I will lose.  Also, my monthly friend came for a visit yesterday, so combine all that with a day of not really doing the best at focusing on what I eat and what my body is telling me.

So, let’s review my goals shall we?

  1. Drink LOTS of water. Oh yes!!  I drank a TON of water this week!  It seems to have paid off! :)
  2. Track everything.  I am a slacker.  I use the sparkpeople tracker just because it’s simple and I haven’t done it very well.  I need to do better.  Maybe I should buy a notebook?  Who knows!
  3. Stay away from the scale.  Scale Day is Sunday…not every single day.  Okay, if I am being honest with you all, which I want to be…I got on the scale TWICE this week.  I can’t help it.  I like knowing how I am doing.  However, I will stay off the scale this week.  I promise!
  4. No snacking on the evil candy at work.  Alright, so the evil candy got the best of me.  I did have ONE day where I did NOT eat any of it.  So, that’s improving.  I am eating a lot less of it now that I have snacks and what not.
  5. Go to the gym three times.  I did not go to the gym.  At.  All.  I’m okay with this because I should have written exercise three times.  And, I did that.
  6. Schedule my massage.  Woops.  I really need a massage…maybe this week I will do this.

So, now that this is over, I guess I should go on and tell you what my goals are for this week and since this is a holiday I am going to have to be strict with myself.

  1. Drinks tons of water!  This is important for me because the more I drink the better I feel and the less hungry I feel.
  2. Portion control.  This is going to come in handy when I’m eating Thanksgiving dinner and then the big breakfast that we’re having the next day.  I need to stay focused on my goal and while I can eat and enjoy the goodies I need to keep it to one plate, and then let it go.
  3. Exercising.  I have always wanted to do the 30 Day Shred and now I am on day 3.  So, I want to keep it up.  I will be taking my DVD with me and doing it while I am gone.  My mom has also offered to help me with this.
  4. Stress, don’t do it.  I find that when I get stressed I don’t want to do anything but eat.  That can’t happen.
  5. Keep my eye on the prize.  If I can just keep working towards my goal I think I will be just fine.

I hope you all have a great week and eat some yummy food this Thanksgiving!!
