Wahoo!

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Today was a great day!  I was able to return to school, I got a B on the Biology test…even though my teacher is the devil.  Seriously, I went up to him before class and asked for my test, he told me to see him after class.  Grrr!  So when I sat down, one of my classmates told me the grade was up on Blackboard, so while he was going on about our homework, I was hopping on my iPod touch and checking my score!  Wooo!

Then, I came home and sort of finished my Informatics homework.  Then I got some laundry done and watched some Heroes (why do I torture myself) and then went for a walk.  It was a GORGEOUS night out, so it felt good and we had good chats…like always.

My mom is leaving tomorrow for San Antonio tomorrow and we decided to wake up extra early to do our run.  I guess I won’t be on my own until Wednesday!

Hope you all had a great day and don’t forget to check out the Tuesday Tracks tomorrow!  Lots of recipes!  :)

{On a totally random note, I am making BBQ tofu tomorrow, I’m a bit nervous, but I’m sure it will be delicious!}

Training Day 3

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I DID IT!!  Yes, my legs felt like jello, but I did it!  My mom actually went with me tonight which helped a TON!!  I figured out the issues that I had on Monday…there were many.

  • Monday, I felt like I was in a race…I was the only one walking.
  • Monday, I went by myself, I didn’t have anyone but myself to tell me to slow down, and take it easy.
  • Monday, I ate a heavy meal, and didn’t allow enough time to digest.
  • Monday, I didn’t drink enough water.

I managed to do the 2 minute walk 1 minute run, for a full 30 minutes.  It was a big accomplishment.  I’m still planning on doing it for one more week, at least until my legs get used to it.

AND, one more thing, I need to remember to STRETCH before I go!  I think that will help me legs a TON!

What are your pre-running rituals?  Maybe I need to pick some up! :)
